The trip to Bhandardara is kind of a must in the monsoon in Maharashtra. Try and avoid the weekend as the traffic going up and down would be something to avoid. But when you are at the lake you will forget everything.

The journey from Mumbai to Goti is a breeze, but after that from Goti to Bhandardara is a bit rough. The views once you near the Kalsubai area are beautiful. The last patch from the dam to the lake is full of bumps as the road is virtually non existant. Tents were pitched overlooking the Lake and though there were 90 people that night. Tents of different groups were reasonably away from each other. The lake water was clear and good for a swim.

My partner and I stayed at the for our honeymoon. The Superior rooms, located in a lush natural setting, added perfectly to our romantic vacation. The resort arranged a boating tour for us as well, which definitely complemented the experience!

Well this place is quite dope in all the season and to be honest . this place is best suited for new year time .As many people visit this place during this time . all the points are good about this place including the hotel fares food.except one thing and that is the sudden climate change of this place . Well this place is suddenly cold and suddenly hot at some times .And this makes an unsuitable place for some tourist throughout the year.

The toughest trio-forts in Sahydri namely Alang Fort, Madangad fort and Kulang gad located on the southern side. A very narrow Sandhan valley is on the Western side of the dam. Very good place visit with friends and families Beautiful greenery

Visitors can follow the trails that lead to Ajoba and Ghanchakkar peaks. The highest peak in Maharashtra, Mount Kalsubai is 1646 m, and the starting point for this trek is Bari Village, located 12 km away from Bhandardara. Atop, there is a small temple located at the summit, with views of Sahyadris and Bhandardara.

The recent attraction in this place is Fireflies camp in the Purushwadi area. There are a number of historic and natural places of interest near the dam. From Bhandardara, visitors can climb up to see the Ratangad and Harishchandragad fort.
